BBC GOOD MORNING SCOTLAND INTERVIEW WITH ANDREW BOYD
Pakistan’s Supreme Court has upheld its decision to free Asia Bibi.
Asia spent 10 years behind bars, eight of them on death row, after being accused of blasphemy – accusations that the Supreme Court finally rejected as false. The apex court has upheld its earlier decision to acquit her.
BBC Radio Scotland interviewed Release spokesman Andrew Boyd about the decision…
- Pray for Asia and her family as they aim to begin a new life abroad after so many years apart.
Further protests from militants are likely.
- Pray for the Christians in Pakistan, that they may be kept secure from a possible extremist backlash.
- Pray that Pakistan will review the cases of the other 200-plus Christians charged with blasphemy – and finally repeal the blasphemy laws.
