The story of Twen Theodros, imprisoned in Eritrea

As Release International launches an appeal to help Christians who face oppression for their faith, Premier Radio wanted to find out more about one prisoner in particular – Twen Theodros in Eritrea.

Twen was jailed almost 14 years ago for nothing more than attending an evening prayer meeting. For that ‘crime’ she has been thrown into a shipping container and tortured to try to get her to give up on her faith.

She has always refused.

She got a message to Release contacts that her one prayer is that God is glorified in Eritrea.

Twen is one of about 230 Christians who have been jailed indefinitely in appalling conditions to try to break their faith.
