Rise in attacks on India’s Christians ahead of elections

Votes are still being counted in the world’s largest democratic election in India. Polls opened on April 11, a process that’s expected to last six weeks, as 900 million people determine their country’s future.
Ahead of that came reports of an increase in attacks against Christians – and warnings that as election fever grew, those attacks could get worse.
Helen Price of UCB radio caught up with Andrew Boyd of Release to find out more about the sharp rise in hate crimes against Christians in India…
