WARNING OF FRESH EXODUS OF CHRISTIANS FROM IRAQ

The Turkish invasion of Syria and unrest in Baghdad could lead to a fresh exodus of Christians from Iraq, warns Release International partner Jamal Liddawi.

In the year 2000, there were around 1.8 million Christians in Iraq. Today that number has dwindled to just 300,000. And there are fears that growing insecurity could prompt even more believers to leave.

Release is helping Christians in Kurdistan reach out to refugees, through its partner Jamal Liddawi.
