 PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS IN
POLAND
UKRAINE: Christians in
the occupied and contested territories now face persecution from the Russian military and those supportive of the invasion. Thousands have escaped these regions and now live as internally displaced people.
SYRIA: Hundreds of thousands of Christians have fled Syria following years of civil war and persecution. Many now live in refugee camps in neighbouring states including Lebanon.

IRAN: The authorities harass and imprison
the leaders of underground churches in Iran. Many have been forced to seek refuge in other countries including neighbouring Turkey.

NIGERIA: Islamist militants continue to wage war against believers in north and central Nigeria. Thousands have been killed and hundreds
of thousands now live in displacement camps.
ERITREA: Persecution, forced military conscription and economic misery have driven thousands of Christians into refugee camps in Ethiopia and Sudan.

BURKINA FASO: Violence against Christians in
Burkina Faso has escalated dramatically since 2019. Jihadists attack villages and specifically target Christians. Many have been killed and thousands have been displaced.

KURDISTAN IRAQ
IRAQ: The vast majority of Christians in Iraq have left the country since the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003. Christians were ruthlessly targeted by Islamic State in 2014 and since then instability and violence have caused many to remain displaced in Kurdistan.
