seminary in Bhutan. His focus is
to offer discipleship and biblical
training in order to see a new
generation of Christian leaders
equipped to serve the church.
SUNDAY 21: Praise the Lord
that the church is growing
throughout Bhutan. Pray that
Christians will continue to be
bold in their faith.
EGYPT
MONDAY 22: Thank God for
the significant difference our
partners are making through
the Strength to Stand groups.
Working with women in one of
Cairo’s ‘garbage cities’, they are
having a significant impact on
the lives of those who attend as
well as their families.
TUESDAY 23: Thank God that the
Strength to Stand groups have
now documented the situation
of more than12,000 households
in one of Cairo’s garbage areas,
with many of these households
receiving help.
WEDNESDAY 24: Thank God that
the women being helped by
Strength to Stand groups are
not only receiving practical
help, but are also being
encouraged to grow deeper
in their faith, which in turn is
strengthening their churches.
THURSDAY 25: Continue to pray
for the project teams in Egypt
which provide poverty-stricken
Christian women with the
wherewithal to live productive,
faith-filled lives.
FRIDAY 26: Please pray for
wisdom for our partners in
Egypt as they work to meet the
needs of Sudanese refugees.
Pray that God would guide the
team to those in greatest need.
SATURDAY 27: Pray that the
Sudanese refugees in Egypt
being supported by our
partners will not only be
provided with practical aid but
will also find eternal hope in
Christ.
SUNDAY 28: Pray for protection
for our partners’ staff working
in rural areas of Upper Egypt.
They ask that we pray for
protection, wisdom and
guidance in what can be a
hostile environment.
UGANDA
MONDAY 29: Twaha Namwoyo
and his wife, Nadiimu Katooko,
were martyred in February,
shortly after converting from
Islam. Pray that their orphaned
children would know Christ’s
love, peace, healing and
protection.
TUESDAY 30: Philemon
Shuha was badly beaten
and hospitalised as he was
preparing an evangelistic event.
While in hospital, his house was
set on fire. Pray for healing for
Philemon as well as peace and
protection and a rebuilt home
for him, his wife and three
children.
WEDNESDAY 31: Pray for the
family and friends of Kiisa
Masolo who was martyred by
extremists in early March for
leading others to Christ.
AUGUST 2024
LEBANON
THURSDAY 1: Pray for
the leaders of Release
International partners in
Lebanon. Pray for wisdom
and grace for them to be able
to deal with the many needs
they are confronted with in
challenging circumstances.
FRIDAY 2: Pray for ministries
providing relief among Syrian
refugees in Lebanon and for
all those who depend on this
ministry. May they find God’s
love within it and share that
love with others.
SATURDAY 3: Pray for young
Syrians and others who are
learning about peace, love
and God’s forgiveness – often
for the first time – through
the ministry of a Release
International partner. May
they be the generation to
bring peace to their troubled
region.
SUNDAY 4: Pray for the many
practical services which
are provided to thousands
of Syrian refugees living
in tented camps, including
laundry facilities. May these
practical acts of care bring
new hope as well as practical
assistance to those they serve.
MONDAY 5: Pray for peace
in Lebanon and against
escalation of the conflict
between Hezbollah, the
political party and militant
group, and Israel. Pray
particularly for all those living
in border regions who are
most affected by this crisis.
TUESDAY 6: Pray for Heart for
Lebanon and other missions
