Release International has launched its Christmas Appeal to help the families of believers who have been killed for their faith.
Christians like Margaret in Nigeria, whose husband was murdered on his doorstep by Fulani militants as he returned from church.
After killing her husband, the attackers burned down their house.
Margaret and her children painstakingly rebuilt their family home. It took them three years.
Then the extremists struck again. They torched her house for a second time and destroyed her crops.
So Margaret turned to Release partners for help. She and many others are being given trauma counselling and support by the Stefanos Foundation.
Hassan John is another Release partner in Nigeria, where violence against Christians is growing. The perpetrators are often Boko Haram Islamists or Fulani militants.
In 2018, 90 per cent of all those killed in violence where faith was a critical factor lived in Nigeria.
