Light Walk Challenge – accomplished!

In the early hours of Sunday, June 14, Release International CEO Paul Robinson and a team of hardy supporters completed the long-awaited Light Walk Challenge!

Setting off shortly after midnight, they carried a ten-foot-tall wooden cross up England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, and were able to raise it at the peak as the sun rose!

The event was staged to raise awareness of persecution, and to raise funds to support those who suffer for Christ and the gospel—for those faithful Christians who, by God’s grace, continue to be lights for Christ in some dark places.

Afterwards Paul Robinson said, ‘One phrase I kept hearing as we climbed was, “this has to be difficult: the lives of persecuted Christians are always difficult—that’s why we’re doing this.” I feel so privileged to have been part of a day I’ll never forget.’

One supporter who completed the walk said, ‘It was wonderful to be a part of 20 supporters of Release who came together from all across the country for a common aim: to extol and pray for the cause of our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world.’

A very big ‘Thank you’ to all those supporters who took part in the Light Walk Challenge: for the time and effort spent in preparing personally for the event, as well as for promoting it and encouraging others to support it.

Thank you if you prayed for the team—and thank you if you have given to support this extraordinary endeavour.
