Release International’s CEO, Paul Robinson, is one of 15 senior Christian leaders standing together in solidarity with the persecuted church this Christmas.

Leaders of NGOs supporting the suffering church worldwide have come together to give thanks for the inspiration of courageous Christians – and to pledge their continuing service.

A letter entitled Christmas Message of Light and Hope is headed by crossbench peer, Lord David Alton, and the leader of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the UK, Archbishop Angaelos.

‘Beacons of hope’

The joint statement honours all who have shone a light in the darkness, by living faithfully through bereavement, illness and persecution. It gives thanks for all ‘who have shone as beacons of hope… whose resilience and courage continue to be a testimony’.

‘It’s a privilege to be able to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our colleagues at Open Doors, CSW, Aid to the Church in Need and others, and to recommit ourselves to serving the suffering church in 2021,’ says Paul Robinson of Release International.

‘Christ shone His light in the darkness – and changed that darkness to light. We rejoice in that, and rededicate ourselves to working with Him in that.’
