Looking in the eye of the tiger – a story of imprisonment in China

Peter Li, a former judge, ended up in prison for 14 years for trying to provide justice for the poor. While there he was instrumental in leading some 50 prisoners to faith in Christ. In Chinese prisons all religious materials are allowed except for Bibles, so the scriptures are treasured by believers and kept away from the eyes of the guards. The printing of the Chinese Bible is totally forbidden in China and can lead to heavy sentences. ‘We need to supply scripture in a smart way because the Communist Party has even ordered Apple to take down all the Bible apps from the eCommerce stores in China. The Chinese Christian has no way to download the Bible from the internet at all.’ – Bob Fu President of ChinaAid. Bob helped rescue Peter – and others like him – from China.
