Following notice of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the new British Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Liz Truss MP, spoke of the Queen as ‘the rock on which modern Britain was built’. Yet it seems clear that the Queen’s own life was built upon the solid rock that is Jesus Christ.
We are grateful for her example and give thanks to God for her life of service.
At this time we ask for continued prayer for the millions of Christians around the world whose lives are buffeted by the raging storms of persecution, that they, too, will continue to stand firm upon the only true rock that is Jesus Christ.
As he grieves, we ask for prayers for His Majesty King Charles III, that he may deeply know Jesus Christ as the true and living Son of God; and that he may have the grace to lay down his own life in service of the King of Kings. God save the king!
